Seven products have been added to the “Drugs for which Discount is Not Deducted” (DND) list from 1 November 2026, according to Community Pharmacy England (CPE).
What has happened
CPE says it applied, on behalf of pharmacy owners, to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) for the products to be added, “to ensure fair reimbursement for pharmacy owners”. The DND list is updated monthly by DHSC.
The seven products added from 1 November 2026 are:
- Aripiprazole 960mg/3.2ml prolonged-release suspension for injection pre-filled syringes
- Clindamycin 75mg/5ml oral solution
- GA express plus 15 oral powder 25g sachets
- Glycopyrronium 8mg/g cream (2.2mg per actuation)
- House dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae) allergen extract 12 SQ-HDM oral lyophilisates sugar free
- Kynmobi 10mg sublingual films
- Myrin 100mg tablets
CPE says that since 2019, a total of 845 products have been granted DND status following checks carried out by its Dispensing & Supply team.
What DND status means
CPE says products on the DND list are reimbursed without any discount deduction applied. Some products qualify as a group, including cold chain storage items, Schedule 1, 2 and 3 controlled drugs, cytotoxic or cytostatic items, immunoglobulins, insulins for injection, vaccines and antisera, certain unlicensed medicines and hazardous chemicals.
A product outside those groups must meet all three criteria, according to CPE:
- the manufacturer(s), AAH and Alliance do not offer pharmacy owners a discount
- fewer than 500,000 items per year are dispensed
- the average net ingredient cost (NIC) per item is more than £50
CPE says individual items are listed separately in Part II of the Drug Tariff, and that owners can also check the Actual Medicinal Product (AMP) listing on the Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d) to see whether a product meets the criteria.
Why it matters
CPE describes the listing as a way to ensure fair reimbursement for pharmacy owners. A product on the DND list is reimbursed without the discount deduction applied, whereas products subject to the discount deduction scale are not.
CPE says it will continue to assess whether other drugs and appliances meet the entry requirements and will apply to NHSBSA and DHSC accordingly. CPE invites owners who believe a product that is currently subject to the discount deduction scale should be on the list to email its Dispensing and Supply Team at ds.team@cpe.org.uk.
